IF: Frozen

I did this back in 2006 for the Philadelphia Zoo's Big Cat Falls exhibit. There was some signage there with some corny kid's jokes in which this one asked, "What kind of treat do cats like on a hot day?" The answer, of course, is "Mice Cream Cones." Laugh hysterically.

I thought it was an ornament that you could hang by the tail. Maybe it should be.

I just joined your blog. I wanted to say I think your classic style use of color is wonderful. Moreover your simplicity in line is elegant. It’s clean and uncluttered. Also it really moves me how you’ve kept religious faith in your work. One last praise… It’s nice to see your process and honesty.

I’m not sure which of the art students I was back in my day that you had on your list, but my art master was patient and I actually can say I have sold some art after I graduated college. I’m not on the level of self supporting but it has fed my cat and I on a few occasions.

It’s funny, as I grew up I fought tooth and nail against “giving in” to this style of Chuck Jones and Sparky because I wanted to draw super heroes. Ironically in the end I make Charles type art… like it, proud of it, and have fed myself from it.

Another funny thing… I use to draw so tiny. My art master always said “draw bigger!” She was right, somehow I ended up doing mural commissions.

You inspired me a bit to get back into doodling for my own pleasure too. Maybe even putting some of my own work on my weight loss blog for fun sake. Maybe doing the illistration friday things again too. Keep the creative wheels moving!

It may be a while before I see a waist the size of my inseam at Foolsfitness!-Alan

Nice! I like the juxtaposition of a mouse and the cone. Something you wouldn't expect to see, yet it looks natural. Thanks for the giggle.
